Whitetail Hunting Camp ~ Custer/Hysham
WHITETAIL HUNTING CAMP ~ YELLOWSTONE RIVER VALLEY 60+ minutes drive east of Billings
The Whitetail Camp is a small,
comfortable, quiet home in the country with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The house is no-smoking, although guests are welcome to use the two outdoor decks.
Each bedroom has two beds, so the camp can sleep six hunters.
Larger groups
can be accommodated in nearby guest quarters at local ranches.
The kitchen is stocked with breakfast fixins, snacks, bottled water, soda selection.
The living room has a recliner couch, leather loveseat & chair, satellite TV and tripod for viewing wildlife.
The dinner table seats 6-8. The utility room has washer/dryer (w/detergent) and game freezer.
Each sleeping room is equipped with bedding, alarm clock, gun rack, dresser, closet and wall pegs.
Each bathroom is equipped with tub/shower, linens, lotion, soap and shampoo (generic), blow dryer.
The front deck faces east and is great for sunrises, stargazing and scoping wildlife in the river valley.
The covered back porch faces west, with a serene view of the pasture rising into the hills to the west -- sunsets can be amazing.
The Whitetail
Camp is located on a private ranch, 9 miles north of the rural town of Custer,
MT
and a dozen miles west of the rural town of Hysham, MT.
The house overlooks the Yellowstone River Valley (Lewis & Clark Trail)
and
the historic military site of Fort Pease, the site where
survivors of the
Battle of Little Bighorn (also Custer's wounded back-up horse, allegedly)
were transported down-river
by steamer for medical help at settlements to
the east.
Meals are served family style, with large dinners catered
by a local ranch woman
(specialities are home-baked breads, rolls, cinnamon
buns and pies!)
Gillin
Place This
remote log cabin in the hills is great for mule deer or antelop hunters wanting
to overnight in the wild.
Services are limited (no power or running water),
but the cabin is beautifully hand-built
and
offers what many hunters are seeking: relief from the sensory overload of an urban
environment.
Here, you'll get only the sweet sounds of nature and star-gazing
like youšve never even dreamed about.
This is a private cabin on a
cattle ranch located between Custer and Colstrip.
Directions will be provided
for guests choosing this option.
